Done!
Well, the North American Basque Organization has its national festival here in Buffalo, Wyoming this summer July 21-24th. There is a fundraiser for the local food bank where artists were asked to paint a replica of a sheep wagon. I feel honored to have been asked and this is how mine turned out! Since I am not Basque I did some research. The seven trees represent the seven provinces located in France and Spain and it is my painterly interpretation of the sacred oak tree in Guernica. On the other side the national flowers of Spain (pomegranate) and France (iris) are represented. And . . . you cannot have a sheep wagon without the sheep! According to the information I received this morning all the wagons will be on display in businesses all over town soon and will all be in the old Deerfield building downtown Buffalo soon. They are all up for sale through bid. I am also signed up to have a booth for the festival displaying my artwork.
